JOB DESCRIPTION
Delivery/Warehouse Associate
The primary responsibility of this position is to safely and timely deliver and unload merchandise to customer locations and to receive, inspect, unload, put away, maintain, pick, pull, stage and load merchandise in warehouse for internal and external customers
JOB DUTIES
- Perform all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within company policy and procedures.
- Operate company vehicles and make deliveries.
- Unload merchandise for customers on local deliveries.
- Ensure company vehicles are in proper working order by reporting mechanical and operational issues.
- Proper completion of regulatory and administrative forms and reports relating to vehicle operation.
- Handle boxes, containers, packages of various weights and sizes.
- Unload and inspect inbound merchandise.
- Utilize RF scanners during product receiving, check-in, put away and picking.
- Maintain merchandise resale value and quality by protecting it from damage.
- Accurately and efficiently locate, verify, pull and pick products and materials for orders, delivery and transfer utilizing RF scanners.
- Maintain warehouse and work areas in clean, orderly and safe condition.
- Participate in taking inventory counts according to guidelines.
- Properly and safely operate (powered industrial) equipment according to safety guidelines in performance of essential job functions.
- Report damaged/missing product to supervisor or Branch Manager.
- Provide whatever customer assistance is appropriate under the circumstances and according to company policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
IDEAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must possess "For Hire License" or ability to obtain one.
- Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs repetitively for 8 hours.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Organized, detail oriented and accurate
- 2+ years of delivery and/or warehousing or relevant or related experience.
- Must be certified or become certified in operation of forklifts
- Able to work overtime pre and post shift as needed with short notice at times
- 100% Clean Driving Record
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The associate must frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time.
- May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching, pushing and pulling of merchandise, products and materials.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers and managers..
- Due to the open warehouse environment, must be able to work in various indoor climatic conditions including heat, humidity and cold.
- Handle boxes, containers, packages of various weights and sizes.
- Utilize RF scanners during product check-in, put away and picking.
- All other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Inside Sales Representative
The primary responsibility of this position is to respond to internal and external customer’s service, sales and technical needs in a professional, efficient and courteous manner. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager and in some cases, the Assistant Branch Manager when present.
JOB DUTIES
- Provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
- Stay current on products and technology.
- Serve counter and phone customers with speed, efficiency, courtesy and professionalism.
- Conduct technical training for branch staff and customers.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure display area is stocked and well maintained.
- Research, evaluate and recommend current equipment, products and supplies for internal customer, contractor or project needs.
- Prepare and follow up on customer quotes.
- Process purchase orders, credit memos, warranty returns and other paperwork on a timely basis.
- Assist customers to locate will call orders.
- Keep customers current on sales promotions and programs.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled events, including sales meetings, training classes and other business related gatherings.
- Follow up with assigned customers and maintain contact as appropriate and necessary.
- Build positive relationships with customers by providing professional assistance to improve customer’s profit.
- Enhance Berkheimer relationships and image with vendors and current and prospective customers.
IDEAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in science (or related technical discipline) preferred or equivalent work experience; OR
- Associates degree in technical discipline (HVACR, electrical, plumbing/piping, etc.)
- In lieu of degree: o 3 years of HVAC related experience working in, but not limited to sales, service, field diagnostics and project management. o 5 years in technical sales and service in a related or similar industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain and grow revenue and gross margin in the assigned territory consistent with agreed upon objectives while developing new customers and improving relationships with existing customers.
- Achieve overall sales and gross margin goals in your assigned territory by growing existing accounts and establishing new ones. Primary focus are the HVAC/R residential/commercial contractor and industrial/institutional MRO markets.
- Actively, aggressively and consistently call on assigned accounts according to established policies and procedures.
- Develop a territory plan and update it to reflect changes in the marketplace.
- Develop an account plan for key initiatives for top accounts including account potential, short and long term objectives and specific actions planned to achieve them.
- Maintain current prospect profiles and business forecast as requested by management.
- Participate in appropriate local, regional and national organizations and associations related to the industry.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled events, including sales meetings, training classes and other business related gatherings.
- Follow up with assigned customers and maintain contact as appropriate and necessary.

Inventory Buyer - Portage, Indiana
JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of this position is to determine, procure, maintain and balance appropriate inventory levels for assigned vendors according to acceptable service level and profitability goals for a 26 branch HVACR wholesale-distributor with locations in Indiana, Illinois and Northern Kentucky. The department is responsible for setting, maintaining, and managing all aspects of the inventory purchasing process in accordance with company objectives, goals, and policies. This position reports directly to the Purchasing and Inventory Manager.
JOB DUTIES
- Maintain constructive, positive relationships and communications with all associates including other departments, branches as well as suppliers and vendors.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels for assigned vendors.
- Manage inventory replenishment cycles of select assigned product lines and vendors.
- Analyze sales trends, purchasing history, freight costs, replenishment lead times prior to issuing purchase orders.
- Research and negotiate prices while creating and maintaining strong supplier relationships that mutually benefit Company and vendor.
- Conduct inventory analyses, reviews and investigations on assigned vendor accounts; communicate trends and opportunities for general improvements; and improvement in inventory turns and vendor profitability.
- Communicate with Company management regarding existing, potential and prospective inventory shortages or overages or other issues.
- Assist Marketing Department, as needed, in the creation and maintenance of marketing programs and related supporting materials, brochures, catalogs, etc.
- Other duties or projects that may be assigned from time-to-time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Associates or equivalent business related degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of purchasing or related experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes).
